The Safe Way To Find The Fetish Community.

An Introduction To The Fetish Community.

For years we have been asked how to join the fetish community safely. We at www.ohlalashop.co.uk have never been judgemental and we know that the fetish community is vast and covers a huge range of activities. We could fill this blog with the types of activities available and there is a vast amount knowledge on the internet. One aspect that is never covered is just how to get into the fetish community and how safe is it.

How Safe is the Fetish Community.

Unfortunately we can not lie. There are like in many communities rogues in the fetish community. There are those who brag about how experienced they are how long they have been in the community blah blah blah. We have experienced accidents caused by inexperience, we have seen abuse of trust so we can confidently write that if you are new tread carefully. Be over cautious never leave yourself in any way in risk. Yes there are safe clubs safe people but unfortunately without knowledge how can you judge. Here are some tips to stay safe. We feel it is super unsafe to meet anyone alone at an address that you are not familiar with. Safety in numbers, do not rush out for a meet start with social events where there are large groups of people and you are meeting in a public place such as a pub. Get to know your local community ask questions loads of questions the more questions the better. Ask who people trust what events are seen as safe and what is involved in attending an event. Just be careful.

Where do I Start.

The fetish community does have a website that everyone uses. It is a great source of information. The site gives warnings of people and groups to steer clear of as well as social events for your area. FetLife is the website that nearly all communities use. Signing up is easy and once you have joined you can then start to look for local communities as well as social events. Fetish social events are known as Munches they normally take place in a pub. Read the instructions carefully and make sure you contact the organiser to ask questions and check if the Munch is for you. Then all you have to do is buck up the courage to pop along.

My First Event.

As we all know clubs have been smashed by the Covid-19 pandemic. Over the last few months events have started to open back up slowly with strict instructions on how to protect you and others from spreading Covid-19. Once you have attended a few Munches you will get a feel for what type of event you want to attend. We would suggest long established events with a large capacity for some of your first events. This way you stand more chance of finding what you like as there will be a lot of different events taking place. Most larger events also have markets where you will be able to see and purchase all the fetish items you might want before attending the party.

We know of two events that we know people will be safe. The first is Birmingham Bizarre Bazaar www.brumbazaar.co.uk.  This event has been going for years and is very well run. The organisers are more than happy for newbies to be shown round the event and will be a wealth of knowledge about the UK scene.

The second event we know people will be welcomed and safe is the Velvet Rope Club www.thevelvetrope.club. This club holds all sorts of events so you will have to look on their calendar for Fetish Events. Again this might be slightly newer than Birmingham Bizarre Bazaar but it is run by long established safe knowledgeable Fetish people. Again we would suggest ringing the club for advice and certainly make your self know when you arrive so you can be shown round and given the club rules.

Conclusion.

It is always difficult to cover every base in a blog so we know you probably have thousands of questions. We are always happy to help with any questions you might have, you can contact us on the email address ohlalashop@hotmail.co.uk we try to answer any questions with in 24 hours.
