We at ohlalashop.co.uk enjoy getting out of the office and hitting the road to showcase our company. One of the most enjoyable events we do throughout the year is Heelz and Hernz presents the Alternative and Burlesque show and market.



The centre of Birmingham was the latest city to host the Alternative and Burlesque show and market. We were for the last time going to be in the O2 academy which is a great place to hold the event and we had to be at the venue for 9am. This meant an early start from where we are based in South Wales.  Luckily for us the journey up went without a hitch and we found ourselves in McDonalds having breakfast before we went to the venue.





After getting all our stock and exhibition stand into the venue we starting setting up the stand which included our new range of hosiery from Ballerina and new fetish wear from Passion. 



The event started at midday and we were quickly swamped with customers  all very keen to see our new ranges of stock. The day went very quickly because we were so very busy serving customers with all manner of enquiries. Certainly by a long way our best seller in Birmingham was the Doxy Massager. Customers were very impressed with how deep the vibrations penetrated into the muscle and with such a wide variety of colours customers were stuck not knowing which colour to chose.

Before we knew it the day had gone and we were leaving Birmingham heading for Swansea for our second party of the day.

We arrived in Swansea around 9pm and quickly rushed into a private swingers party and set up for the second time of the day. It was great to catch up with customers who due to being so busy we had not seen for some time. The disco floor was full and we had a great evening catching up with all the gossip. 

Our customers snapped up the last of the sale items we had. The We-Vibe 4 + has been a crazy £79.99 for nearly three months and the SALE is coming to a close the end of this month so we will be putting the price back up to its RRP. With this in mind the party customers were quick to take advantage of such a big discount and we managed to sell 5 which we were super happy with. A little jaded but very happy we left the venue in Swansea at 2am and rushed home to go to bed for some shut eye.

Our third and finial show was a regular event we go to in Bristol known as Swamp. This is a fetish market held at OMG Bristol every second Sunday of the month we have been going to this event for over a year and have made so many friends who in time have turned into valued customers. 


We arrived just after 10:30 and yet again unloaded the stand into the venue and started setting up. It was a glorious sunny and hot day and we were a little worried if anyone was going to come as it was so nice outside. We started to get very worried as it 2:30pm before we saw any numbers attending the event and it was not until 4:30pm that we started to get busy. Fetish wear was the name of the game especially our PVC catsuits which were very popular. Before we knew it the time had come to head home. We dismantled our stand packed it back into the van and we headed home. Once in the house we had a look back through the sales sheets and even though we were shattered it had been all worth it. 


We have a very busy October our markets will take us as far north as Manchester and as far south as Brighton. We are especially excited about plus size pride in Warrington this is a new event for us but it looks like it is going to be very good fun. Our events are all on our website we have Swamp and Alternative Burlesque parties on the same weekend then we are off to Warrington for Plus Size Pride. We are then at Bizarre party Swansea and our month finishes in Brighton at twisted market. We are still on the look out for new events and we look forward to the next couple of months running up to Christmas.

LGBTQ+ baby boomers vs Generation Z

As PRIDE month draws to a close, here at Oh La La Shop Ltd, we felt that it was only appropriate that we gain knowledge and feedback from generations and how they feel the LGBTQ+ community is supported and valued. We compared the baby boomers generation to the Zoomers commonly known as Generation Z. During our research, we found that all of the samples knew what LGBTQ+ mean and could correctly identify this. We found that they knew this due to the knowledge and education that is available. When asking if both generations know of someone that is part of the LGBTQ+ community, they could easily identify an individual close to them whom both generations know and support those individuals. All of the sample sizes said that they didn’t look at anyone in the LGBTQ+ community differently.
